IELTS Speaking Test Part 1 Questions
Why do you think there are so many advertisements now?
Probably for a couple of reasons; first, there are now more advertising mediums than in the past. Before, adverts were common in newspapers, magazines, and other published material, and on TV and radio. But now with advances in technology, and since everyone has a mobile phone, probably the biggest growth area for ads has been online, through websites, apps and so on, and better technology now has made it easier now to product large scale advertisements too.
For example, the buses and other large vehicles you see with adverts on them – in the past the ads would have to have been painted on them by hand, but now printing technology makes it much easier, quicker and cheaper to produce such things – so naturally there are more of them.
In the future, there’ll probably be even more ads everywhere as brands and businesses get even more creative than they are now.
