Describe A Big City That You Want To Visit
One day, I would like to visit Tokyo, Japan. I have always wanted to visit Tokyo and other parts of Japan ever since I was young.
Tokyo is the most densely populated city in the world, with over 13 million people living there. It's also one of the global commercial centers with a number of its companies ranking among the largest corporations in the world; for example, Toyota Motors.
Tokyo has an estimated population density of 39,202 inhabitants per square kilometer. That means the population is about 8 times denser compared to our little town here. In the provincial capital town where I live, we have an equivalent population density of 5,551 inhabitants per square kilometer.
The amount of human activity and consumption is unbelievable! Imagine all those people just consuming things every day.
How did you learn about it?
I first learned about Tokyo in an episode of Animal Planet. There was this show called Monster Fish which focused on the largest freshwater fish in the world.
One of their episodes featured a giant catfish from Tokyo, Japan which measured about 10 meters long and weighed more than 800 kilograms. If I remember correctly, it's been about 2010 when I first learned about this big koi or Nishikigoi.
Today there are many videos and blogs online featuring huge koi carp with some even reaching 10 feet. It's crazy how a humble little goldfish can become something so humongous!
Another time I heard about it was from my brother, who spent time there while he was still in college working towards his degree in Computer Science.
Why do you want to visit it?
The main reason I would like to visit Tokyo is to visit the aquarium –saiyūki (サイユキ) in Ryōgoku, Tokyo.
Tokyo is a big city that offers many exciting things to see. I love zoos and aquariums. I highly doubt whether there are any places in the world with more stunning marine life than at Saitoyu ika. So I'm going to take some time to visit it if given a chance to go there.
Saitô Yûki Aquarium has one of the largest collections of fish species in Japan, including many endangered species such as sea horses, seahorses, and sawfish.
What do you know about this city?
I only know that I've read and seen on TV that it's clean, well-organized, and safe. I agree with all those observations.
Tokyo is considered to be one of the safest cities in the world. Its crime rate is very low compared to other large cities in China or even Europe.
It's a city where you can walk on the streets at night without any concern (although I usually don't recommend walking alone late at night).
And yes, everything works properly there – from ATMs to vending machines!
