A Park You Visited That Impressed You
Some years ago while I was on vacation with a friend in Mexico we visited a small town in the north east of the country for the day, specifically to see and climb one of the ancient pyramids there which is famous with tourists.
Anyway, we spent most of the day at the site of the pyramid, but afterwards we decided to saunter into the plaza (the town square) to see what it was like.
It was there that we discovered that there was in fact a park in the centre of the town. It was quite large and had lots of trees and shrubs all around it as well as some amazing flowers which had really strong, vibrant colors and smelled lovely.
We sat at a café in the park and had an ice cream and watched the people walking past and the children playing in the park.
There was like a small playground in the park which had some swings, a climbing frame, a chute, a swinging rope and a tower which the children could climb up using a ladder and then there was like a deck on top where they could sit or slide down a pole.
The usual sort of things kids love, you know – anyway, they were all busy playing boisterously and enjoying themselves.
Anyway, one of the most amazing things about this park was the different smells you became aware of as you walked around it, we didn’t know any of the names of the flowers, but the colors and smells were simply incredible.
Overall, the environment, the atmosphere with the children playing - oh and I forgot to mention there was music as well – there was a group of musicians sitting in the gazebo playing what I suppose must be popular music
So the general atmosphere was just so happy and vital, not forgetting that they served great ice cream – it wasn’t like any park I had ever seen back home, and that’s why when I visited this park, in a small town, it impressed me so much.
