MyFitnessPal is an app which allows you to track all your macros and exercise to help you hit your fitness and nutrition goals. It’s really neat – you can input all the food you eat every day and it tells you what all the macronutrient content is – the macros – such as protein, carbohydrates (carbs) and fat, and you can also use it to input the exercise you do regularly and then it calculates the calories you’ve consumed and burnt off doing various activities so that you can see if you have a calorific deficit or surplus.
It’s amazingly simple once you get used to it – and it’s really easy once you’ve entered the meals you eat because it saves all the data regarding macros, portion sizes and so on – so that they’re all there automatically next time you enter what you eat. The app’s hooked up to probably one of the biggest databases for such things – so you can simply input the name of something, the brand of food, from a supermarket for example and the app already has the data stored ready to use.
For sure, it’s one of the best apps I’ve ever seen or used and it takes all the guesswork out of nutrition – because you can see exactly what you’ve consumed, in terms of calories, and how many calories you’ve used throughout the day – so it makes adjusting your diet and controlling your weight incredibly easy – simplest thing in the world.
I’ve been using it now for about a year, and it’s the easiest app to use, it makes life easier and I’ve actually managed to maintain the same weight over a long period of time thanks to this app – before I used to put on weight and than have to lose it because I really had no idea how many calories or how much exercise I was doing – the app has changed all that and now I can track everything and see my progress.
