IELTS SPEAKING EXAM PART 1 What do you do? Do study or work? I just started working recently. I’m working on a social project in some of the poor neighborhoods in the city. It’s a government funded initiative. Do you have friends at work? Not a lot, there’s one other person who is about my age and we are quite good friends. The other people I work with are much older than me, and although we get along okay at work, we don’t socialize or anything outside of work hours. What is your work schedule? Are there differences between different countries' education systems? Why?

Are there differences between different countries' education systems? Why? I’m sure there are. I mean it makes sense because different countries have different needs, don’t they? Some countries are still trying to make sure that all children get a good basic education. Others are more developed and have different aims regarding education. For example, I’m sure the education systems in the USA and China are quite different. I’m not an expert, but the cultures are very different, so I suppose the education system will reflect those differences. Some education systems are more open and questioning while others are more conventional and based on the transfer of information rather than discovery learning, for example. The education system of a country reflects its culture, history and current needs, so although there may be some similarities, there are also bound to be some big differences. How are teaching methods determined in the education system? I’m not really sure...

What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of foreign investment in countries?

IELTS Speaking Part 3 Discussion Questions & Answers What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of foreign investment in countries? Well, firstly, it brings in new money and usually expertise which helps develop companies and the local economy. For example, a large multinational company which decided to construct a manufacturing plant here many years ago. The project completely transformed the area in which it was located. It created lots of jobs for local people, and many local businesses also benefited from the increased activity in the area. I think, generally, foreign investment is a good thing because it stimulates the economy. The only disadvantage I can think of is that obviously a lot of foreign investment can cause a series of changes within certain areas, and even change the local culture over time. But apart from that, it’s a good thing because it generates many new opportunities for the local people. Is there much foreign investment in c...
