What sort of things do people need to remember every day? Every day, people need to remember things like what time they need to leave for work, when their next meeting is happening, or where they left their car after parking it. These are all situations that require the ability to keep track of information over a short time. For example, if someone needs to be at work by 8 o'clock every morning, but has no idea what time it is and therefore doesn't know how long they have until they need to leave for work, this person will likely miss an important event and may even wind up being late for work on more than one occasion. How can people improve their memory? Honestly? My brain’s like a phone with zero storage left — constantly forgetting where I left my keys! But I’ve picked up a few tricks. Speaking Topics - How do you remind yourself about things?

IELTS Speaking Part 3 Questions Give some examples of how you remind yourself about things. I think the most obvious ways would be to make a note and stick it in a place you will see everyday – like on your desk, computer, in your car or wherever you’re sure you’ll see it when it’s appropriate, that's what I used to do. You could also program your phone or computer to remind you of loads of things if you think that you might forget them, that's what I do all the time now. You could always ask someone to remind you about something, but then you have to rely on the other person not forgetting, so maybe that’s not the best idea unless the other person is really good at remembering things. Using your phone is probably the best plan – it’s so easy and you always have it with you – so it would be really difficult to forget something if you program a reminder for yourself. What do you think of people using calendars to remind themselves of things? There are pros a...

Do you think memory is important? Yes, memory is definitely important. Memory is also important for emotional...

Why Do People Often Forget Small Things?

memory forgetting things Why do people often forget small things? Well, I suppose it could be because they have a lot of things to think about or remember and sometimes it’s easy to remember big important things - but little things are more easily forgotten. Most people try to remember everything without using anything to help them and while it may be easy enough to remember a few important things – the more things you have to remember the higher the probability that you forget some of the smaller things that maybe aren’t so important. What are the reasons for this?
