Describe a bicycle/motorbike/car trip that is interesting

My friend and I are thinking about a bike tour of the states. We would like to travel by motorcycle across all the states if possible, but I think that might take too long, so we’ll probably start by doing an east coast to west coast trip first.

From coast to coast is somewhere between 2,500 and 2,800 miles depending on where you measure from exactly, so it will take some time.

We are thinking about doing it the summer after graduation from university – before we start work because when we start I’m pretty sure we’ll both be busy for the first couple of years and probably won’t have much time to think about taking a long vacation or a trip like this.

So a long-distance trip like this is quite an adventure for both of us. I’ve known my friend since we were at high school together and we get on well, so that’s a good thing. We enjoy doing many of the same things, and we’ve traveled together on shorter trips around the country before.

We started talking about the possibility of a cross-state trip about a year ago because there are so many places in the USA we haven’t seen yet, and we both thought it would be fantastic to see each state at least once before we possibly settle down or move abroad to work.

Ideally, we’d like to visit all the major states from the east coast to the west coast and see the main tourist sights as well as explore some more off-the-beaten-track locations while riding our motorcycles cross country.

That’s one of the benefits of the bikes; it’s so easy to make a quick detour and see something interesting before continuing to the next planned destination.

The last bike trip we did was a tour of Colorado, which was great, especially when we visited the Grand Canyon it was so fantastic that we stayed a couple of days longer there than we had planned.

But that’s the great thing about a road trip – you can be flexible about your itinerary when you’re not flying, and you don’t have to check in at certain times.

So that’s a trip that we are planning for the future.

I have always wanted to embark on a unique adventure, and there's one particular car trip that I've been yearning to undertake. I would love to drive an electric car through the winding rural areas of the Scottish Highlands. The breath-taking scenery, featuring sprawling meadows, serene lochs, and snow-capped mountains would be a sight to behold!

My plan would be to start my journey from Inverness, the gateway to the Highlands, and drive along the iconic coastal route. The beauty of this route is that it takes you through some of the most dramatic landscapes that Scotland has to offer. You get to experience both the ruggedness of the Scottish coastlines and the charm of the rural areas, which offers a truly diverse travel experience.

I would set aside a week for this trip. I believe this duration would allow me to explore the route at a leisurely pace, and also provide me with ample opportunities to make spontaneous detours.

One of the main reasons behind choosing an electric car for this trip is the desire to uphold the pristine nature of the Highlands by minimizing air pollution. Electric cars are preferred by many people rather than using conventional private cars which contribute significantly to air pollution. I feel that we, as users of transportation systems, have a vital role in shaping the future of our environment, and utilizing eco-friendly mobile vehicles is a concrete step towards a sustainable world. The availability of electric vehicles has changed transportation drastically, and the way we think about the private car and rural and urban systems for moving around.

Also, this trip would offer a welcome break from the hectic schedule of urban systems. It would be a quality time to unwind, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, and public transportation, which can often get crowded and stressful. Plus, a trip like this could serve as an excellent bonding opportunity with family members, allowing us to enjoy each other's company against the backdrop of the magnificent Highlands. In conclusion, the allure of the Scottish Highlands, the potential for quality family time, and the chance to contribute to environmental preservation by choosing an electric car, are the driving forces behind my desire for this trip.

Good luck in your IELTS exam!
